ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. Christian Weedbrook is the CEO and Founder of Xanadu Quantum Technologies, a Canadian quantum technology company with a mission to build quantum computers that are useful and available to people everywhere. After obtaining a PhD from the University of Queensland and working as a postdoctoral researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Toronto in the field of quantum physics, Dr. Weedbrook determined photonics would be the most credible path for scaling quantum computing and founded Xanadu. Since 2016, the company has been building fault-tolerant quantum computers using light particles, paving the way for quantum computers that can operate at room temperature.
Under Dr. Weedbrook’s leadership, Xanadu has grown from a Toronto startup into one of the world’s leading photonic quantum computing companies, and the first of its kind to list on the public markets (NASDAQ/TSX: XNDU). The company is backed by more than $500 million USD in funding and is recognized internationally for its breakthroughs in scalable quantum technologies.
